about us Our Story Graduate school can be challenging. We have all felt stuck at times during our graduate student years. We are passionate about helping students succeed, and we are here to help! Our Team Professor Sara Pozzi is a professor at the University of Michigan (UM). She graduated 25 Ph. D. students who went on to develop successful careers. She is the recipient of many awards, including the 2006 Department of Energy, Office of Science, Outstanding Mentor Award and the 2018 UM Rackham Distinguished Graduate Mentoring Award. Dr. Shaun Clarke is an Associate Research Scientist at UM. He has over 15 years of experience in student mentoring, having mentored over 20 graduate and undergraduate students in a variety of computational and experimental research projects. He has much experience with co-authoring papers with students. Leah Clark is a 3nd year Ph. D. student at UM. She graduated from UW-La Crosse with a degree in physics. She conducted research in physics for all four years of her undergrad, and spent the last two years studying low-energy nuclear physics. This exposure led her to pursue a nuclear engineering Ph. D. at UM. Stefano Marin is a 5th year Ph. D. student at UM. He graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Physics in 2017. His graduate research interest include the physics of fission processes and the analysis of experimental data. He mentors several junior students in our group, including several undergraduate students. Abbas Jinia is a 4th year Ph. D. student at UM. He earned a Masters degree in nuclear engineering from Purdue University. Abbas is an experimentalist and is interested in new detection techniques in high gamma ray fields. He has mentored several undergraduate students in our group.
